DuNord to Manning Park

Manning Provincial Park

The following is a hiking/cross country ski trail called Monument 83. It starts off the Crowsnest Highway (#3) and heads south to the Canada/USA border at Monument 83. It was a day trip and did not get to reach my final destination, maybe another time.

Looking up the trail, a deactivated logging road from the 1950's.

Hey there! We lived and worked in Manning Park through the 1970's -- our "salad days"!
We made it to Mon 83 and also to Mon 78. It was the first time, from the forest service towers, that I could look down on the border and realised it was just like an electric razor trail through the forest.
Nowadays I guess it has drones and everything but back then it just had friendly rangers on the US side happy to make tea and reminisce about how they got there from there...
